私が初めて参加した「ハーブ農園見学・収穫体験」の会場は、東京にある老舗ハーブ農園──ニイクラファームでした。この農園の歴史は驚くべきもので、なんと室町時代から数百年にわたって受け継がれています。土地に根差した栽培方法、土壌の管理、季節ごとの自然循環。そのすべてが代々の知恵によって守られ、今日まで続いてきました。

最初は癒しと遊び心だった。この時の私は、ビジネスのことなどまったく考えていませんでした。ただ、草木やハーブが持つ力に触れるたびに、「人間は自然と深くつながっている」という感覚を、体の奥で確かに感じていたのです。ローズマリーの清涼な香り、大地に根を張る草木の力強さ──。それは理屈ではなく、感覚として押し寄せてくるものでした。

「これは、何か大きな可能性を秘めているのではないか」
そんな予感だけが、静かに心の奥に芽生えていました。

The moment I stepped into one of the greenhouses, I gasped. Before me stretched countless herbs — among them, rosemary trees more than 20 years old. It was, indeed, a paradise on earth — a sanctuary where humans and nature coexisted in harmony, and where history and the future seemed to intertwine. I was deeply drawn in, returning to the farm again and again to harvest herbs, to experience distillation — to immerse myself completely.

At first, it was only curiosity and the search for healing. Business was the farthest thing from my mind. Yet with every encounter — every time I touched the living energy of herbs — I felt, deep within my body, that human beings are profoundly connected to nature. The refreshing scent of rosemary, the strength of plants rooting firmly in the earth — these sensations were not rational but intuitive, a truth that resonated wordlessly through my senses.

Then quietly, a feeling began to sprout within me: “Perhaps there lies a great potential here.” That faint premonition — gentle yet certain — was the seed of destiny to come.
